Let’s try this blog thing again

Hello, friends! 👋

So, I’m back again, putting effort into posting content to my personal website. There are two reasons for this.

The first reason is that I’m looking to get back into hobby development. My daily job mostly uses .NET and C#, and I don’t do front-end web development very often. I want to change that, so I’ve decided to start with Svelte. While I was looking for resources on building my own blog (not WordPress-based, because I’m not about to tie my blog to that mess), I found a great post on ‘Building a SvelteKit Markdown blog’. This is currently the base for my site. As I learn more about Svelte, my site will also improve. This is one of the projects I’ll be focusing on.

The second reason is the current state of social media platforms and decentralisation/federation. Instead of investing my time in posting content and growing other people’s platforms, I’ve decided to focus on growing my own. So, I’ll be focusing on doing “POSSE”. My content will be primarily posted to my website, and then to other platforms that I may have a presence on with links back to my original posts.

Here’s hoping that both of these reasons are good enough to make this website stick around this time 🤞.
